Duties and Role:

• The  SME  Advisor  will be  an  integral  member  of the  team  supporting  the implementation  of the  ESME  program  and shall  report  to the  ESME  Program  Manager .
• The post holder will  coordinate  the selection of  businesses  to work  with  under  the program  in Uganda and  the  support  that  they  subsequently  receive  including  technical and business  advisory  , product  testing and development  of  new supply chains  and market  outlets.
• The  role will  also  involve  coordinating  with  other  organizations  that  are  offering  support  services  to  stove  business  particularly  those under other  World  Bank  funded projects , including  the Private  Sector  Foundation  Uganda  and the  Uganda  National  Alliance on Clean  Cooking.

Experience:

• Minimum  three  years  experience  in a  relevant  area such  as business, logistics  or market  development  with  degree  level  education.
• Proven  experience  in consulting  SMEs on  fast moving  consumer goods, supply chain  and distribution , as well as  marketing .
• Experience  with business  models  for delivery  of services  to the  Base of the  Pyramid  (BOP) markets .
• A good communicator with advanced  oral  and written  skills.
• A can-do  and collaborative  mindset-comfortable  with  the  ambiguities  and  demands  of a  rapidly  evolving  environment.
