Position Overview

Key duties and responsibilities

Qualifications, Skills and experience
• Must have a degree in statistics, Economics, Economics, Development studies
• At least two years’ experience evaluating HIV/AIDS services
• Must have training in project planning and management
• Knowledge of national policies relating to HIV/AIDs is an added advantage
• Must have through knowledge of computer based applications especially statistical packages, databases, spread sheets and power point.
Other Skills
• Good interpersonal and team building skills are desirable.
• Strategic planning skills desirable

Job Summary:
The Library and Information Services Assistant manage the operations of the ERA Resource Center and Facilitate orderly receipt, storage and dissemination of information.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage ERA’s resource centre for access to all staff and authorised visitors and attend to user (Internal/external) requests for reading, reference and research materials.
• Develop, implement and periodically review resource centre policies, procedures and practices in line with modern information, research and knowledge trends.
• Initiate the development of modern information and research services and promote the utilization of the resource centre.
• Recommend the acquisition of publications, newsletters, Journals that are of use to ERA operations.
• Classify, index and store all Resource Centre materials following appropriate procedures.
• Liaise with other relevant sector agencies to enable access to relevant information beneficial to ERA and its stakeholders.
• Manage the automated Resource Centre Management System; update its database to reflect all current materials acquisitionsand maintain an accurate inventory of all collections and equipment in the Resource Centre.
• Initiate and manage the budget for Resource Centre requirements.
• Ensure that Resource Centre materials are kept on good condition, custody and are accessible for
• Guide and Train Staff/Authorised visitors on Resource Centre related systems and procedures to enable access to available reading materials
• Advise Management and Staff on Resource Centre related matters and needs.
• Monitor and periodically evaluate the utilization of the resource centre and generate reports as may be required.
• Support higher level registry and information management functions including but not limited to processing of incoming and outgoing records and correspondences, management of records and registry databases and systems , execution and implementation of regular registry projects as and when required from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant should hold an honors degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS).
• A relevant Post Graduate qualification in records or information management or relevant professional IT qualification will be added advantage
• The applicant must have a minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in records and information management services.
