Responsibilities:
Become familiar with the joint work plan, joint budget, partnership agreements, contracts and the national implementation guidelines for the mass campaign distribution
In consultation with MoH, MC and PMI develop a clear scope of work for SMP/JHU’s role in the LLIN distribution and establish performance benchmarks for SMP
Together with COP, participate in National Coordinating Committee meetings and other discussions that may be held with MoH, donors and MC. Participate in national, regional and local planning and review meetings, trainings, supervision activities and workshops to ensure that.

Education and Experience, Skills:
A post graduate degree in public health, business administration, supply chain, pharmaceutical management or related field
A minimum of 5 years experience in managing health commodities, preferably LLIN distribution
Additional experience in health information systems and desirable
Prior work experience and knowledge of the public health context in Uganda strongly desirable
Ability to lead strategic planning, results based management, financial tracking and reporting; Familiarity with USAID regulations
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to manage a team oriented setting, excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Engineering Assistant Careers at MRC/UVRI Uganda virus Research Unit on AIDS

Responsibilities:

•    To ensure the continued availability and serviceability of HVAC equipment and liquid nitrogen for the MRC facilities in Entebbe, Masaka, Kyamulibwa and Kampala while also providing maintenance support for freezers, air conditioners, the nitrogen plant and tanks for the MRC laboratories and clinic
Reports to:
•    Senior Maintenance Engineer
•    Inspect and keep in good order, the Unit’s HVAC installations to ensure their continued availability and serviceability
•    Monitor the status of the nitrogen plant and nitrogen stocks at the MRC Entebbe facility
•    Monitor the service hours’ status of MRC nitrogen plant , air conditioner and freezers
•    Carries out routine service of freezers, water still, air conditioners and generators in Entebbe
•    Ensures the safety of the MRC workshop facility in Entebbe
•    Quickly responds to –runs electrical installation and HVAC faults report in Entebbe and the field stations in Masaka, Kyamulibwa and Kampala
•    Ensures that the sample temperature monitoring systems is operational and produce test-runs weekly
•    Checks on the operation/working order of toilets, doors, windows, fasteners, switches and the general condition of all Entebbe MRC buildings.

Education, Skills and Experience needed:

•    A diploma in refrigeration and air conditioning from a recognized institution
•    Minimum of 3 (three) years practical experience in a busy industrial setting is required
•    Proficiency in computer use required
Terms and Condition:
•    Successful candidates/Applicants will serve a 2 year(s ) contract with a possibility of renewal  subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds, inclusive of a 6 months’ probation
•    Other terms and conditions for this position are specified in the MRC staff code
•    A good salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered to the successful candidates.
Location:
•    The position will be based in Entebbe however; the successful candidates will be expected to support the field stations in Kampala, Masaka and Kyamulibwa whenever required.
